Each of us belongs to many communities. Your family is a community, so too your circle of friends. If you belong to a social club or an activist group, or relate to your college grad friends from your common year – all these are communities to you. Their unity is assured because they are held together by something they all have in common. That's why Yogi Bhajan defined community as a “common unity.” This year I am watching one community grow enormously. It happened this past Spring and its growth is moving along rapidly. I am speaking of a group of Reiki Masters I trained for five months this Spring – the largest I have ever trained. They came together from across the country, 21 men and women from all walks of life, and weekend after weekend they grew into a united band of souls committed to making a difference as healers and teachers. Others I trained as masters in earlier years are joining in, and many are already striding out with their first classes. They represent a broad new wave of Reiki, that will help to spearhead and unite in purpose and action all those who have trained with me at The Healing Source over 19 years. Who can join in? Everyone who has trained here, whether they are First Degree, Second Degree, Third Degree or Masters. Everyone who shares a common unity and love for this magnificent healing energy. Now this core group is ready to birth the next stage of their dream – to build a new type of healing and teaching center somewhere in the Valley of the Sun. It will be an integrative healing approach – since those I have trained over the years include medical doctors, nurses, massage therapists, oriental medicine doctors and many others who practice nature-based and energetic healing. The center will also present kundalini yoga classes as a vast majority of folks I have taught Reiki are also teachers and practitioners of kundalini yoga as brought to us by Yogi Bhajan. This core group doesn't yet have a full vision for their community, but that isn't stopping them. Inspiration has led them to take a special journey for untold blessings and dedication on a new level. This October this hardy band, with a few dear friends accompanying us, is joining me on a spiritual trek to India. Their goal is to perform ceremonies that can cleanse lifetimes of karmas from them in order to make themselves clearer channels for teaching and healing. They follow the path I walked years ago. By doing this cleansing they will receive countless gifts from God for their united mission. We bring with us the hopes and dreams of all those who have trained with me, be it in Reiki, yoga, Womanheart or numerology. Each of you is very special to me. When we return by mid-November, the visioning process for the new center will begin. Those who would like to participate in its development at this stage, or think they would like to at a later time, are welcome to email or phone me. At the humble age of 70, I feel like a young girl again, watching the enthusiasm grow. I am proud of everyone who has helped us to preserve this beautiful lineage. Everyone who participates in this new vision is giving birth to themselves, their dreams and their path. You will be hearing much from this core group in the coming years as it expands. Their work, and the work of all of you who join in and form communities, here and across the country, will have a ripple effect on many other communities. Whether you chose to join in a Reiki community, or something else that has meaning to you, put your highest goals and values into action. Put energy into one or two communities and deepen your participation. Give the gift of your presence and your energy to help something you believe in grow. At this time when many pressures on us as individuals, families and communities threaten to bring disunity and discord, choose that which builds a common unity of caring, sharing and peace. Let these powers prevail. My heart is with you in this. Bless you in all ways always!

Community -A Calling for "Common Unity"
Dear Friends,
