Teaching to a packed "tent" (classes were held outdoors in tents) to over 200, S. S. Sangeet Kaur Khalsa had everyone laughing and learning about "relationships" in the workshop "Too Hot to Handle? Taming the Fires of Passion in Relationships." (See the fun slide show at the end of this article.)

For more than two hours on Sunday June 20th, 2010, Sangeet had the full attention of the crowd at the 3HO Summer Solstice Yoga Festival in Northern New Mexico. Using an effective combination of lecture, yoga and meditation the students experienced a new way of understanding the often fiery aspects of intimate relationships with both a "human" partner, and God as the partner.

I sometimes found myself laughing inside pondering which was the "easier" relationship --God, or my wife!

Sangeet often reinforced her message with many quotes and personal stories of Yogi Bhajan, the founder of the organization hosting this week-long yoga event. Sangeet studied with Yogi Bhajan for more than 25 years and she made us all feel like his presence was there teaching, healing and inspiring all of us.

This was a great opportunity for new students to experience some of the depth of Yogi Bhajan's teachings on how to make relationships more loving and rewarding, while being a terrific "refresher" for the "old timers" that may have forgotten a thing or two over the years.

After the workshop Sangeet stayed and answered questions and signed copies of the new second edition of Womanheart --Healing Our Relationships, Loving Ourselves for over an hour and a half. Many of the students asked Sangeet if she taught a longer course on relationships to which she recommended that they attend the Womanheart Spiritual Immersion this October 1-3.
